Day 24: Marfa, Texas

By admin on March 1, 2012

We are leaving at 4:30 in the morning for the seven hour drive to Austin to get Barb and Cori to the airport for their flight home. It has been an indescribably rich two days here in this former South Texas ghost town sixty miles from Mexico, home of Donald Judd’s Chinati Foundation.

Much more on this from Austin tomorrow night…

I am very interested in hearing and seeing more about Marfa either through your blog or by email. Mother and Bill spent time there and loved it. It was a special place for Bill who lived and worked out there for about 4 years after his first wife’s death. I have never been there! I’m so glad your trip has been so magical.

Vicki! It was amazing! I will love sharing it with you. We arrived from White Sands Wednesday afternoon planning to spend the one night, but only ten minutes after arriving and hopping on our bikes we unanimously decided to stay another night. A great decision. I’ll go back with you. Magical, indeed!
